Ophthalmic Assistant I

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet patients warmly, answer questions and make them feel comfortable during exam.

  2. Obtain and compose good history including multiple elements.

  3. Obtain accurate medication information.

  4. Check vision at distance, intermediate, and near. Check pinhole vision.

  5. Read glasses prescription.

  6. Check eye pressure by tonopen and iCare.

  7. Other in office testing (i.e. osmolarity, inflamma dry, adeno plus, PAM, color vision, stereo, topo, pentacam, cell count)

  8. Manage digital information.

  9. Communicate with other office personnel.

Qualification:

  1. Excellent communication skill

  2. Computer skills (master electronic health record, able to obtain/verify information using internet)

  3. Good writing skill (good grammar and spell check to put preliminary information into electronic health record)

Commitment:

Full time or part time. Must be reliable. May need to cover some of the weekend.
